  • Anchor the end of your hand sewing close to the newly sewn stitches in the seam allowance in a way that allows the original seam to be pressed open and lay flat.
  • Press the seam as it was originally before the mending was needed.
  • If the seam finish has become un-sewn, replace the stitching as closely as possible to prevent the fabric from fraying.
