Decorated Plastic Bag Caddy
Information about your project.
I have been sewing now for about 40 years.
The ideas on crafts and sewing in about.com motivate me to try new things.
My entire Christmas was made up of things I made as gifts.
On this project it took me about one hour to make the plastic bag caddy. That included the cutting out of the fabric.
Making the bias tape took me just a little longer, but was worth the effect.
I now have a plastic bag caddy that goes with the new red electric appliance gifts at Christmas and the rest of chickens decorations in my kitchen.
Hope this inspires you to try sewing the plastic bag caddy in about.com and tweaking it to suit yourself.
Tips and Tricks
- To make it a little more fun and different used a coordinating fabric at the top. Cut the desired amount of coordinating fabric plus seam allowance where you will sew the main fabric to the coordinating fabric. Mine was 1 inch, allowing for 1/2 inch seam allowance.
- Then made some bias tape the same as the coordinating fabric and attached to the bottom.
- I make the bottom elastic a little tighter at the bottom, so when stuffing bags in the top they do not come out the bottom.
