Sewing to Quit Smoking

No I'm not going to nag you if you are still smoking. I managed to quit after 35 years of sending money up in smoke. We have since used all of our smoking money to have an enviable home gym and are working on undoing the effects of smoking.

Given the new highest tax in the nation that went into effect in New York on cigarettes this week, I thought I would take a minute to offer anyone still looking to quit some hand sewing projects. Hand sewing keeps your hands busy which I found very helpful through the worst part of quitting.

Congrats on stopping smoking… it is really good to know of someone who is making this important change. My health if poor (never smoked) with problems that will not go away but make my quality of life less and less in spite of all I do. My dad died from lung cancer last year. It has been hard for my mother after 59 years of marriage. It was hard to see such a strong person go through that… Congrats again! Of course, now your sewing projects will smell nicer too!

Hi Debbie
Good for you on quitting smoking. I quit 4 years ago after 53 years. My secret. go on line till the feeling goes away. I have never even been tempted. My main reason for quitting was the price rise. One dollar and then another dollar a pack. I just got angry that noone was objecting.
