New Bathroom Tissue Cover Patterns

By February 16, 2012

Free patterns for toilet tissue coversThere has been a commercial on television that keeps telling us to "respect the roll"... Personally, the toilet tissue cover they offer to "respect the roll" does not appeal to me and doesn't go with my decor... but I do agree that the spare roll looks much better under cover so I decided to see what I could come up with in my favorite medium... fabric!

Now that I will have two bathrooms, I decided to design two different patterns. One toilet tissue cover has gathered sides and an elastic casing bottom that securely stays on the roll.  The other toilet paper cover has straight sides with piping around the top circle. Using interfacing allows the straight side cover to stand on its own, similar to the way a box would cover the roll.  Covering all of the types of tissue that we use, keeps them clean and helps prevent germs and all kinds of nasty things.

I made some toilette tissue covers similar to the plain sided one, but I put a ruffle at the bottom which makes it look like a little hat. I’m thinking of adding a fabric rose to make it look like a summer hat.

Do you wake in the night with ideas running through your head! You have some of the best and useful ideas I have seen. I am going to make some of the durable reusable grocery bags, they will be much better than what the stores sell. Thank you for all your helps.

jhack- those sound adorable! would you like to share the pattern or some pictures?
Peggy- Believe it or not… yup… I do wake up with ideas. So much so I keep a notepad next to the bed.. The durable grocery bags are great and in my area Shop-Rite offers you a 5 cent discount for using a re-usable canvas or fabric bag, verses 2 cents for re-using a paper or plastic bag. The one bakery thrift store doesn’t even have bags anymore… you have to bring your own. My favorite bag is the one that folds tiny so I always have it in my pocketbook. I am TERRIBLE at remembering to bring them in the store!
