Wood for Warmth

Follow me on:

A few years ago we installed a wood stove. At the time I had no idea just how much it would save us in heating costs. Now I am the first one out there splitting one and I have no qualms what so ever about carrying in firewood. The bags I made help immensely.
If you know someone who is or is planning on using firewood to stay warm this winter, I hope you will consider sewing them one or two log carriers as a gift. I've always found that two are easier to carry since it balances the load. The prices on these items can be very high for a strong durable carrier... but is far from expensive to make... and if you follow the free directions, the one you make may be stronger than any carrier you can buy. I can promise you that the bags will be used and appreciated every time they bring in wood!

The log carrier is a wonderful idea. Thank you!

I do want to caution your readers though. If you store your firewood outdoors, be careful what you carry in with the firewood.

I brought firewood into my home once and discovered there was a snake in amongst what I brought in! I like to have never got that snake out of my house!! I have since learned to be very careful and to look at each piece of wood before it goes into my log carrier.
