Don't let the Troops Down! Our Help is Needed!

By November 5, 2012

Follow me on:

Do you remember when I told everyone about Operation Holiday Stocking to provide our troops with their own holiday stocking? I hope everyone took advantage of the Free Pattern and Directions to Sew an Operation Holiday Stocking for the Troops.  I received an update from them and I hope we can all chip in to make sure we don't let the troops down!

Here's the email from Sue so everyone will understand exactly what is needed:

Since you posted about Operation Holiday Stockings we have heard from so many people who want to help.  We have received a lot of stockings so far, and are looking forward to receiving more.

We currently have requests for 3500 stockings and have received 2000.  We still need stockings, and the items to put into the stockings, and of course, donations for postage.  We will be shipping the boxes out the week of November 26th.  If there are folks out there who haven't mailed to us and are wondering when we need them, we would like to receive them no later than November 21.  Our mailing address is

Operation Holiday Stockings
P.O. Box 3186
Sequim, WA 98382
Our wish list for the items to put into the stockings is
Lip Balm
Moisture Wipes
Drink Mixes
Sample shampoo and lotions
Small size baby power
Sample size soaps
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste (sample size)
Thanks for your support!
Sue

Went through my stash and found some nice stretch velvets and some holiday knits. Going to see how many stockings I can get done and send some goodies also. Thank you Debbie for sharing this information.

That makes two of us doing stockings… I have 40 in the works. I had yards of red fleece and white fleece so it is being transformed into stockings
