- Fold the pants leg in half matching the seams as you would to press creases in the leg. (As you did to cut the strap)
- Measure an even distance in from the crease, approximately 4" or as wide as possible to the closest seam, leaving the crease intact and mark an approximate 14" length of the pants leg.
- Cut on the mark, through both layers of the leg leaving the crease intact.
- Cut on the crease to create two even pieces.
- Place the zipper pull side down on the right side of the fabric, matching the edge of the zipper tape with the edge of the length of the fabric.
- Repeat for the second side of the zipper.
- Zig zag the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying.
- Press the fabric away from the zipper.
- Top stitch near the fold on the edge of the fabric.
- Trim the fabric to the length of the zipper tape.
