  • Fold the length of the zipper section in half and mark the folds.
  • Placing right sides together, match the fold marks with the center front and center back of the waistband.
  • Match the ends of the zipper with the side seams or belt loops.
  • Spread the waistband evenly on the zipper section, arranging it so there is an even curve on each part of the zipper section.
  • Pin or hand baste in place.
  • Sew using a scant 1/4" seam or the top stitching on the top of the waistband as a guide.
  • Trim the fabric on the zipper section to match the edges of the waistband.
  • Zig zag the seam allowance.
