Everyone loves fleece fabric. It's warm and soft. It's made into blankets, clothing and home decorating items all the time. It does not require a seam finish because it will not fray or unravel. It is especially great for outer wear because Polar Fleece fabric has a wicking property which takes moisture away from the body and into the fabric. If you have the wrong side as the right side, you could be wicking moisture from the elements, such as rain and snow, toward your skin.
Most fleece prints will be sharper or more pronounced on the right side of the fabric. Solid colored fleece may seem brighter or clearer on the right side of the fabric.
Find the right side of a fleece fabric by sprinkling water on two different areas on the opposite sides of the fabric, the side that absorbs or wicks the water the fastest is the wrong side and the side you would want toward your skin and away from the elements..
Keep your cut fabric from accidentally using the wrong side by marking each cut piece with tailorsĀ chalk or other fabric marking tool on the wrong side.
A curling test will show which is the right side or wrong side of fleece fabric. Holding two areas of a cut edge of the fabric, gently tug the fabric. The cut edge of fleece will curl when stretched. The side it curls toward is the wrong side of the fabric.
