Even if you can find a ready-made mixer cover or blender cover, are you going to find one to match your kitchen? This mixer and blender cover pattern is designed for a full size appliances but appliances do vary in size. .If you are not sure about the size of your appliance, make a quick cover out of muslin or unwanted fabric, without doing the piping and bias tape, to test the size.
Keeping your stand mixer and blender covered between uses keeps it clean and dust free so it's ready when you want to use it.

Make your own small appliance covers and curtains to match.
Consider adding a pocket inside the cover for instruction manuals or embellishing the covers with one of the many free machine embroidery designs or using appliques.

Needed Materials:

2/3 of a yard of 45" wide fabric - For this cover I quilted a cotton calico, using natural cotton batting. Buy extra curtain fabric and Quilt Your Own Fabric to have all your fabrics coordinate in your kitchen. Experiment with fabric embellishment techniques to obtain the look you want for your home. Piping - 1 pkg. of Wrights® Maxi Piping or Your Own Piping How to Cover Cording to Create Your Own Piping
Double Fold Bias Tape - 1 pkg of Wrights® Bias Tape Extra Wide Double Fold.
Pattern| Pattern in PDF Format - Be sure to follow the directions on the pattern to make the completed pattern piece for the cover you are making.

Cutting Out Your Fabric

Make pattern piece as instructed on the pattern piece, following the instructions for the cover you will be making.
Cut 2 fabric pieces of that pattern piece.
Cut one piece of fabric 31" by 14" for a mixer cover. Cut one piece of fabric 35" by 9" for a blender cover. Mark the center of the 31" or 35" edges. This mark will be used later to align the pieces when they are being joined. Rotary Cutting Rulers and Tools will help assure that your cutting is squared and accurate. Using a 1/2" seam allowance, apply piping to the end sections that were cut out from the pattern piece, on the sides and rounded edges but not on the straight bottom edge of the pieces. (Instructions for Applying Piping)

Find the center top of the rounded end sections. This will be the center line at the top of the pieces.
Match the center of the long section of fabric with the center marking on the rounded pieces.
Sew the sections together from the top to the bottom edges, using a 1/2" seam allowance, overlapping a couple of stitches at the top to lock the stitching.
Repeat for both ends of the cover.
