Materials:
  • Fabric
  • 1/4" wide elastic -- cut to the length around the top of the basket.
  • Thread
Create the pattern

The Base

  • Measure the interior base of the basket.
  • Add one inch to the length and the width for a 1/2" seam allowance
  • Cut a rectangle base to the measurements.

The Sides
  • Measure the height of the sides by running a tape measure from the base and up over the edge to where you want to basket liner to stop.(Note: Do not be concerned about handles stopping the lining from going over the edge. The gathering allows for ample fabric to go over the edge.)
  • Add 1 1/2" to the height measurement. This will be Measurement A.
  • Measure the distance around the sides of of the basket. Multiply this distance by 1.5 and add 1" more for the seam allowance.-- This is Measurement B.
  • Cut the sides out creating a rectangle that is measurement A by Measurement B.
