In some cases you will want a flap to make sure small, loose contents do not fall out during transport. A flap is a simple solution.

Make a flap that is 7" by 2 1/2". Cover one 7" edge with bias binding, the same way you did for the top of the pockets.

Before you sew the bottom of the pockets on to the fabric, line a flap piece up just overlapping the pocket bottom. Cover the overlap with the bias binding and stitch in to place.
